The firm was founded by John Birkby in 1985.
As long established solicitors in Oldham, our aim is to provide the best legal advice and services. We are pleased to announce that we have been re-accredited under the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme for an eighth year.
Our offices are based in Oldham, with free parking, where you can make use of our free 30 minute consultation to find out more about how we can help. Home visits and appointments outside of our normal working hours can be made via appointment.

Fiona Goode LLB (Hons)
Principle Solicitor
Fiona Goode became Principal of John Birkby & Co in June 2009.
She had previously worked for John Birkby for 7 years. Fiona studied law at Leicester University and completed her Solicitors Finals Exam at Chester before qualifying as a solicitor in 1986. She has experience working in Manchester City Centre firms as well as high street practices.
She is a family law specialist and member of Resolution. Fiona deals with Family Law cases. Fiona also has 30 years experience in private client work, dealing with wills, probate and estate administration as well as the sale and purchase of houses.

Muhammad joined the firm in July 2023 and is completing a Business Admin Apprenticeship.

Saher Iftikhar joined the firm in November 2023. She has over 6 years of experience within the conveyancing sector, dealing with all aspects of residential sales and purchases. She works as a Conveyancer within our conveyancing team and will be your primary point of contact for residential sales and purchases.
